Candle Ritual for Spiritual Cleansing and Protection

We will be clearing unwanted and used-up energy from ourselves, our homes, and altars. For this ritual you will need a Spiritual Cleansing Blessed Herbal candle or a Motor City Hoo Doo candle and Blessed Herbal Protection candle or a Fiery Wall of Protection Motor City Hoo Doo candle, Wicked Good Smudge spray or sage incense, your household cleaning supplies, your favorite body wash and shampoo and your favorite fresh flowers.

Do a grounding meditation and ask for a golden light to surround your aura and then fill your home. Remove the packaging from your spiritual cleansing candle, place it in the candle holder and light it. Place it in a safe place as close to the center of your home as possible.

Now, tidy up, dust, and vacuum your home. Do the dishes and if your washer and dryer are in your home, start a load of laundry. If you go to a laundromat, you are off the hook for the laundry. When you are done, turn your attention to your altar. Clean your altar by dusting it, putting on a fresh altar cloth, and reorganizing the elements. Then add fresh flowers and a small glass of water to it. Light the incense and wave it over your altar or mist your altar with the Wicked Good Smudge spray.

After you are done with all of your cleanings, go take a shower or bath and wash your hair. Afterward, mist your aura with Wicked Good Smudge spray, affirming that you are releasing all the old energy you’ve been carrying around with you. Imagine it all falling off you and going deep into the earth.

Next, unwrap the protection candle and put it in a candle holder. Light it and affirm that you and your home are protected. Place the candle on your altar or as close to the center of your home as you can. Let it burn for up to 3 hours, then extinguish it. You can light the two candles every day for a few hours until they are gone. Enjoy the clean and sparkly energy in your home!
